Key Takeaways:

  • Take ownership of your role: Conflict always involves more than one person. When you face conflict with another person, start by looking at yourself and taking personal responsibility for your role in the conflict. This will shift your perspective from being a victim to solving the problem.
  • Live by the Golden Rule: You’ll never regret how you treated someone else. Treat others the way you want to be treated—not how you feel they deserve to be treated.
  • Don’t ever give up on a difficult relationship:  Your happiness is worth it and every relationship can be improved given the right motivation, timing, and opportunity.
