Ohio WBE Update with NAWBO Columbus

This meeting is an opportunity for NAWBO Cbus members to engage with the the Minority Business Development Division and to learn information on any changes or updates on the Ohio WBE program and other State resources for women business owners.

About the Women Business Enterprise Program (WBE):

The state of Ohio’s Women-Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) program is designed to assist women-owned businesses in obtaining contracts for goods and services, construction, architecture, engineering, information technology, and professional services. The WBE program does not apply a procurement goal or set-aside target for state government contracts. The state of Ohio developed the program because it recognized the need to encourage, nurture, and support the growth of women-owned businesses to foster their development and increase the number of qualified competitors in the marketplace. Meet our Facilitator: Rhonda Peterson, RKP Ventures LLC

Rhonda Peterson guides business owners, entrepreneurs and emerging leaders to lean into their strengths and energy which increases their ROI, both professionally and personally. Why? This focused energy opens the space for greater impact in your organization because you are doing your best work.

Passing on the wisdom gained in coaching leaders and authentically sharing her own leadership experiences helps audiences connect to the importance of how the soft skills of leadership affect the bottom line -- that their own energy can make an impact on profits, efficiency, team culture, and more (that’s the ROE – Return On Energy - Rhonda always talks about).

Rhonda spent her corporate career in Consumer Affairs and Marketing, working for Fortune 500 companies, including Borden Foods, International Paper, and AbbVie. Her own transformation to an ROE focus meant moving from marketing products to marketing people. She transitioned from product brands into coaching leaders on developing their personal brand for marketplace impact through executive coaching.

Along with her B.S. from Ohio State University, she holds a certification in Executive Coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners, currently serving as Vice President, along with the Westerville Chamber of Commerce where she serves on the Women in Business committee.
