NAWBO members asked for more branding and marketing programs and we answered!!

We’re taking the month of April to focus on YOUR BRAND in this April Marketing Series. It kicks off at our April 4th monthly meeting featuring a interactive panel discussion with some of NAWBO Columbus's most innovative branding and marketing experts ready to share their tips, tricks and advice about branding, social media and essential tools to executing your marketing plan. 

Look forward to an interactive discussion around simple actions that yield powerful results in both your personal and professional brand.

About the panel: 

Moderator: Mikaela Hunt, Mikaela Media 

Mikaela Hunt is an award-winning journalist that spent nearly 17 years in TV news, working in every seat from producer to anchor with her last stop on NBC 4 Today for seven years as the morning co-anchor. Mikaela Media, a brand journalism company that tells stories through video and written content and shares them online. She also the co-host of Cbuzz, a podcast for the Columbus Chamber of Commerce that highlights business innovators in Central Ohio. In early 2018, she started co-hosting "What Matters with Mindy & Mikaela" - a live radio program and podcast for Central Ohio families on 610 WTVN and iHeart radio.

Mikaela is a Business First honoree; the publication recognized her in their 2017 "40 Under 40" class. She is a member of the National Association of Women Business Owners and on the Columbus chapter's Board of Directors. Mikaela also speaks to women's leadership groups across Columbus about how to "Find Your Story". She lives in the Hillard area with her husband, two elementary-age sons and two miniature dachshunds.

Shaniece M. Wise, UNSTOPPABLE Community

Shaniece M. Wise is a Business Expansion Coach and Strategist, Certified Executive Coach, Author and Speaker. She is the founder of the UNSTOPPABLE Community, a community of over 1400 professionals and entrepreneurs. Being in business for over 17 years, Shaniece teaches a 7-Step System which helps leaders and entrepreneurs expand their leadership, marketing and selling strategies at an accelerated rate which leads to high-level cash flow and 6 figure profits.

With her two business degrees in Marketing and Logistics, graduating in the top 2% of her class from Max M. Fisher College of Business at the Ohio State University, Shaniece provides her clients with the tools necessary to create success. She is the author of best-selling book “Activating Your Gifts” and is currently working on her 2ndbook which will be released in the fall of 2019. Businesses and organizations across the country are currently using Activating Your Gifts to support their professional and business development. Shaniece is a NAWBO member.

Lacey PicazoZoCo Design

An award-winning and published creative, Lacey is the founder of ZoCo Design, a leading brand strategy and user experience design agency, which was also named a 2017 and 2018 Best Place to Work by Business First. Through ZoCo, she has built a reputation in preparing brands for what’s next—identifying opportunities that incite transformation and growth for nonprofits and startups to Fortune top 50 clients. An avid supporter of the creative and startup communities, Lacey was a member of the 2016 Forty Under 40 class, as well as the Smart Business Smart 50 class of 2017 and the BizTech Awards Outstanding Woman in Technology, 2017. She is also a co-founder in the Lumos accelerator, which has now invested in two separate cohorts—fueling the growth of fifteen promising new startups. Lacey is a NAWBO member. 

Carissa Richardson, Kindred Strategy

Carissa is a marketing strategist with 13 years of experience connecting customers with brands. She has a passion for developing customer-centric social media strategies that create meaningful connections between brands and their customers.  

Carissa's mission at Kindred Strategy is to offer high-quality marketing help to small businesses that is both accessible and affordable. Kindred Strategy helps provide agency-level experience, ideas, and quality but without the high price tags and long timelines.

Registrations must be paid in advance.

A late fee will be charged after 12:00 pm on the Monday preceding the Meeting.

Cancellations made after 5:00 pm on the Monday prior to the Meeting will not be refunded.

Are you a new member or a first time guest? Stick around after the meeting to attend the Huddle, where you can learn more about the benefits of NAWBO Columbus and how you can get more involved! Huddle is from 1:15pm - 1:45pm and takes place in the same room as our luncheons.

Registrants agree to the NAWBO Columbus photography release unless they have otherwise notified the communications committee.

All special dietary and meal requests must be submitted with your registration by the registration deadline. We regret that we can not provide alternative meals or substitutions that are requested at the luncheon.
